Doubles and Near Doubles
Students had to each flip a card over. If the students flipped doubles or near doubles they raced to find the sum of the addends. If they won, they recorded their equation on their chart. Students learned that using mental strategies to solve problems was much more efficient than counting with their fingers.

We observed, recorded, and asked questions about the "dancing raisins". Students learned that they are scientist!

Wordle
We learned how to use a new webite called Wordle. We will be using it this year to describe our star student each week and other things. The more you type a word the bigger it gets. Try using it to describe people in your family!
